Overview
This is a rare opportunity to own and shape the Design System for one of Canada’s top fintech companies. As Senior Visual Designer (Design Systems), you’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining KOHO’s design system across web, mobile, and marketing experiences, ensuring pixel-perfect execution, usability, and scalability.
This role sits at the intersection of brand and product design, reporting to the Director of Design (Brand), and works closely with Product Design, Engineering, and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Own KOHO’s design system across all platforms.
- Define UI components, design tokens, grids, typography, and scalable visual patterns.
- Maintain governance models and contribution frameworks for consistent scaling.
- Apply high standards of visual/UI design with an eye for detail and accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineers for pixel-perfect execution and parity between design and code.
- Document guidelines, specs, and best practices for the team.
- Communicate design system updates, adoption strategies, and improvements.
- Conduct health checks, track adoption metrics, and facilitate training for the design system.
Who You Are
- 6+ years in visual/UI design with a strong focus on design systems.
- Expert in Figma (libraries, component variables, documentation).
- Skilled in visual design: typography, layout, color, interaction.
- Cross-functional collaborator with strong communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in accessibility and inclusive design practices.
- Comfortable bridging product and brand design across digital experiences.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with rebrand efforts and adapting systems post-rebrand.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript for better design-dev alignment.
- Understanding of motion design in system applications.
