Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Webflow CMS Authoring Engineering team in our mission to provide the data capabilities to build, launch, and grow any data-driven website where visitors will consume or interact with dynamic data.

About the Role

  • Location: Remote-first (BC & ON, Canada or United States)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Exempt Status: Exempt
  • Compensation:
    • United States (USD):
      • Zone A: $150,100 - $207,100
      • Zone B: $141,550 - $194,750
      • Zone C: $132,050 - $182,400
    • Canada (CAD):
      • $171,000 - $235,600

This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow’s company-wide bonus program, with target amounts varying by career level and payouts based on company performance.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll:

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to plan and build product capabilities that enable our ambitious visual development goals.
  • Build, document, and test production code that impacts all Webflow customers.
  • Participate in engineering activities including incident response, on-call rotations, interviewing, technical specifications, code review, and releasing new functionality.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery, solving problems in a highly technical platform that empowers hundreds of thousands of users.
  • Improve planning, development, and deployment processes.
  • Tackle complex technical challenges on a collaborative and geographically distributed team.
  • Help drive the future of the Webflow CMS experience.

In addition, Webflow will support you in identifying your interests and development opportunities to help shape your role.

Who You Are

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience shipping features and products, focusing on web frameworks and products.
  • Are familiar with Node.js and TypeScript and can write scalable services and APIs using Express.js, GraphQL, Apollo, and MongoDB.
  • Can debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
  • Have an innate interest in the Web Platform, visual development, and platforms that empower customers.
  • Love thinking through large technical problems and working through complexity on a collaborative, distributed team.
  • Are comfortable reading code and debugging existing software to build a mental model of product architecture.
  • Take pride in ownership and driving projects to business impact.
  • Have a strong understanding of data design and modeling.
  • Communicate trade-offs effectively to balance technical and business requirements.
  • Are comfortable working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment.
  • Have experience building or working with CMS systems.
