goPeer is a financial wellness company and Canada’s first regulated consumer peer-to-peer lender, connecting borrowers and investors through an online marketplace. We offer better rates to borrowers while creating new investment opportunities for Canadians. Recently launched with significant traction, we aim to be among the fastest-growing FinTech start-ups in Canada. We are recruiting a Senior Front End Developer for web and mobile development, seeking candidates passionate about technology and socially responsible innovation.

Responsibilities

• Assume ownership of the goPeer web portal, an SPA built using Vue.js and Vuetify.
• Optimize user experience focusing on design, usability, and performance.
• Produce a new hybrid mobile app for improved mobile user experience.
• Collaborate with the full stack and back end development team.
• Provide recommendations for optimization and enhancement of processes and systems.
• Advocate for best practices in development and test-driven methodologies.
• Ensure compliance, security, and privacy considerations are prioritized.
• Maintain technical documentation and assist in preparing end-user documentation.
• Focus on project timelines and deliverables, tackling obstacles as needed.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve deficiencies and gather feedback.
• Foster a positive team environment.

Skills and Qualifications

• University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, or comparable experience.
• 4+ years of relevant web and mobile front-end development experience, especially with SPAs (bonus for related industry experience).
• Strong curiosity and desire to learn, innovate, and build futureproof systems.
• Collaborative team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities while balancing objectives.
• Good knowledge of agile methodologies and the application development lifecycle.

Preferred Technologies

• Proficient in current web development standards and frameworks.
• Strong development skills, preferably with Vue.js, React, or React Native.
• Experience with code management and version-control systems, preferably Git.
• Familiarity with serverless architecture and cloud infrastructure, preferably Amazon AWS.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs design and implementation.
• Experience with microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Proficiency in project planning and collaboration tools, including the Atlassian stack.
