Overview

We are hiring a Software Developer, Backend in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will build and own backend services, infrastructure, and data that power Robinhood’s core financial products. This is an opportunity to gain unique insights into the U.S. financial systems, strengthen your domain knowledge, and work on solving scalability challenges while maintaining a high standard of engineering quality.

Compensation

• Base Salary: CAD $119,000–$140,000.
• Participation in Robinhood’s bonus and equity plans.

Futures Team

Our mission is to introduce futures trading and event contracts to millions of users by delivering a seamless, secure, and innovative experience.

What You’ll Do

• Build scalable systems and components with a focus on stability and long-term maintainability.
• Design, write, test, and release platform or product-facing features with stringent requirements for correctness and scalability.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, team productivity, and reduce risk.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, client teams, and vendors.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proven experience successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering large-scope technical projects.
• Deep understanding of design, product, and backend development disciplines.
• Proficiency in Go or Python.
• Experience with Kafka, data streaming technologies, and handling large amounts of data.
• Familiarity with Postgres, Kubernetes (K8s), Redis, AWS, or similar technologies.
• Bonus Points: Experience at a fintech company or financial firm.
